The robots created in the class are eligible to compete in the 150 gram Sportsman weight class. These robots are non-destructive, so you can drive them around without worrying about injuries to kids or pets (just be careful like you would be with any remote control electronics).

I showed my sons the BattleBots TV show, and we were all hooked! I found a Houston area robot combat group and went to one of their robot build classes. Since then I have built more than 5 custom robots, most of them using the basic components from our first class.

Meet the bots
The Robot Line-Up
Here are the bots that we have available for build classes.
Deadlifter
Deadlifter is a equipped with a pair of lifting arms that can easily get under the sides of most bots, then lift them. The arms can also be used to pin other robots to the sides of the arena, or raised to push other bots onto its wedge and clamp down on them.
Big Flip
Big Flip
Big Flip
Big Flip has a BIG wedge that can raised to flip or lift opponents. The width of the wedge makes it tough for most bots to avoid, leading to lots of opportunities to control the opposition. This also makes it a good bot for beginners new to the sport.
Flipp-E
Big Flip
Big Flip
Flipp-E is a straight forward design. The front wedge can get under opponents and slide them on to the flipper. The flipper is hinged in the front, giving Flipp-E the ability to flip or push other bots forward, and toss them around the arena.
